Sarah Kundi, First Artist with English National Ballet, leads this 8-part course recommended for those completely new to ballet or those returning to ballet after a break.
What you’ll learn:
• Understanding how barre work is preparation for allegro
• The importance of going back to the barre to understand the mechanics of the steps
• Battement tendu progression: facing away from the barre
• Introduction to battement glissé at the barre
• Progressing to a full rond de jambe at the barre
• Battement fondu progression facing the barre, introducing relevé
• Cou-de-pied progression
• Grande battements progression: using tendus to support a controlled throw of the leg
• Port de bras progression: including the head, eyeline, movement of the torso and travelling steps
• Battement tendu progression in the centre using arms
• Allegro progression: soutés in first and second position
• Glissade preparation facing the barre
