Dance with expansiveness in this class which includes warm-up, full barre and finishes in the centre.
Crystal Costa, former First Soloist with English National Ballet, leads this ballet course for Intermediate to Advanced dancers to get back in the studio and back on stage.
Artist of the Company Emilia Cadorin helps to demonstrate the exercises, with Julia Richter on piano.
What you’ll learn:
• Work on placement and opposition at the barre, so you can dance with freedom at the centre
• Find your centre from your pliés onwards
• Keep yourself on the ball of your foot to avoid pulling off the barre
• Test your balance by closing your eyes or letting go of the barre
• Hold yourself up from your back, feeling like you’re floating on water
• Isolate the hips by squeezing your lower abdominals
• Lift as you change from one working leg to the other
• Zip up the inside of the standing leg
